BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN
The Tightrope Learning program was designed by Mary-Ellen Rooney, a primary school teacher who saw the need to bridge the gap for a lot of children between preschool or day care and Kindergarten. What started out as a small idea has turned into a successful full-time role!
OUR CLASSES
Classes are capped at 6-8 children. The reason for this is to replicate a typical sized group of children in a Kindergarten classroom. I also do one-on-one private sessions if requested.
SAFE & ENGAGING ENVIRONMENT
As the numbers are small, it becomes a beautiful way to transition into a larger group when they enter the classroom as I can equip them with the knowledge and skills they need in a non-threatening, safe and engaging environment.
The small numbers also allow me time to work one-on-one with the children so there are no surprises when they get to school and need to with with their teacher.
CLASS TIMES
Classes run Monday to Friday from 9:30-11:30am and 11:30am to 1:30pm. Saturdays from 9-11am. The children can come to one or more sessions per week.
WE'D LOVE TO HAVE YOU JOIN OUR CLASSROOM!
The Saturday classes also include children from K-2 who may need a little extra help with their school readers or sight words. Many of these children are past kids I had in my previous years who just like to come back on the weekends.
